The owner of a Honda Civic EX contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in a carjacking by a suspect using a screwdriver as a weapon in the city of Fontana.
Fontana police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
Within16 minutes, officers from San Diego Police picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a commercial parking located on Carmel Mountain Road and Interstate I-15. After a short surveillance a suspect was located and arrested for carjacking and vehicle theft.
