The owner of a Honda Civic EX contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in a carjacking by a suspect using a screwdriver as a weapon in the city of Fontana.

Fontana police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within16 minutes, officers from San Diego Police picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a commercial parking located on Carmel Mountain Road and Interstate I-15.  After a short surveillance a suspect was located and arrested for carjacking and vehicle theft.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Honda, Civic on August 23, 2001 at Norm Reeves Honda in Huntington Beach, California.
