LoJack Helps Seattle Police Recover Deployed Soldier’s Nissan 350Z

Here at LoJack Corporation, we honor those who serve the military past, present and future. We are particularly pleased when our product works to recover the vehicle of a deployed service member.

On November, 5th, 2012, while the owner of a Nissan 350Z was on active duty deployment, his car was stolen from his residence in the 8000 block of South 134th Street in Skyway WA.  It was taken sometime after 5:30 a.m.  After realizing the vehicle had been stolen, the owner’s roommate contacted the King County Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of the vehicle. King County Sheriff’s Office verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Nissan.
Less than two hours later, a Seattle Police officer received the silent LoJack homing signal transmitting from the stolen Nissan on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol car.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the Seattle PD officer quickly tracked the vehicle to the 3800 block of South Mead where it was found abandoned.  The vehicle was processed for evidence and released to the roommate.

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Nissan 350Z  in October of 2008 at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale, Arizona when it was purchased as a used car.

NOTE: Portions of this story were obtained from the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Seattle Police Department
